"Sometimes it was difficult to communicate via phones but this can be fixed by directly going to the person."

"I get out on time, pay is okay, they're patriotic."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"If you start a career in aerospace, it is very hard to get out, and you will be branded a lifer who can only do aerospace finance. Many of the people have been there for years in the same position, and it's hard to get promoted. You are also subject to the political whims of congress for your programs."

What don't you like about working at Boeing Defense, Space & Security?

"The work is boring and tedious, there is no room for promotion due to the downsizing of managers and higher levels, many of the managers are either technically good, but have zero personality or have some personality, but are completely incompetent at doing their job. Managers who are idiots never seem to get fired, they just get moved somewhere else, etc."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Put more money into R&D, get out and meet your workers more, get rid of the unions whenever possible, get rid of all the mandatory training, etc."

"I enjoy the high interaction with different types of people."

"Know someone high up in the company if you want any hope of being promoted."

"At times artificial deadlines are created which cause things to be rushed when in actuality they could have waited."

"I would worry less about managing metrics and more about delivering a high quality product on time."

"Flexible working hours offered, as well as being able to work overtime."

"No I do not have any tips - as company access/interaction for me is very limited being overseas employee."

"Personal comfort level needs improvement. I am a bike commuter and all the showering facilities company provides are behind US only doors. :-("

"Maintain critical mass on people with domain knowledge. Invest in comfortable work environment."
