"Live your own life, and find work that inspires you. Be honest in your answers and don't allow the inner critic to needlessly censor constructive ideas."

What don't you like about working at Blizzard Entertainment?

"As the successes of the company continued to rise there were some significant sacrifices that had to be made in terms of the culture of the company. Creativity as a result became somewhat stifled by profit driven motives that attracted personalities who cared more about the intended results than present realities."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Don't assume that caring for your employees is a weakness, or a negative trait. Allow and encourage people to create strong social bonds that allow them to more freely express their creative interests and natures."

"The culture was not software engineering kind. Not at least of a kind I would expect.Almost everyone was passionate about games and building software was treated as a necessary evil."

"Work environment has too many emotions as far as I am concerned. Maybe adding more senior people will make it more stable."

"Some departments are very structurally volitile. You can find yourself as a manager one day, and an engineer the next, but without a clean notification of change."

"You sometimes can feel pigeon-holed based off of the department you were hired in to at first, but all the resources are there."

"Further streamlining the functions we were performing would have prevented the mass lay off that we all had to endure."
