What do you like about working at Black Diamond Grill?

"I enjoyed the people I worked with and the customers I had met. The place at first was my so-far favorite restaurant I had ever worked in and at first I saw myself confident of success. The food was great but over-priced."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"I would not suggest to anyone to apply for employment with this restaurant."

What don't you like about working at Black Diamond Grill?

"The owner was constantly ill with me for no reasons other then personal angst. I had never received proper training and what little I did there was a language barrier. When I started working prep I was expected to be as fast and effective as everyone else even though it was my first non fast-food restaurant job. When it took me seven hours to complete all prep by myself I was talked down to and my hours were adjusted. I was also unimpressed when I learned that what we sold as grouper was actually a different, more affordable fish' yet priced to sell as something else. As well, when I worked in the dish-pit I noticed an odd rash form on my arms. When I asked about it I was told to buy my own industrial gloves. I later found out the dish washer used heavy chemicals other then hot water to sanitize. I have no doctor information but I believe the rash came from that chemical. I finally left because I was tired of there always being an issue between me and the owner, mainly ill with his inability to properly handle my deserved and worked for income. Hours were never consistent though they never really are in this industry."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"The shift managers all did their jobs well. My only concern is with the owner and what seemed to be his inability to deal with me as an employee in a professional manner."
