Biergarten Employee

"I was hired in July of 2017. I walked in during slow season and got hired on the spot. With that alone I should have realized that there was something up with this place. Their turnover rate among staff is really high especially among their wait staff. This business is run by a boys club. Girls must purchase a $70 corset as part of their uniforms. No aprons are given. Guys must purchase a $5 pair of suspenders for their uniform. The GM knows nothing about the computers or the menu. To ask him any type of question is a waste of time because he will quickly pass you off to one of the other managers. The three other managers are of the ages 26, 28, and 29... all men. Two out of the three are horrible managers. The youngest one, who you would think would be kind and uplifting towards his staff since he did start off as a busboy years ago and made his way up to bar tending, is the worst out of the three. He sits at the bar (although there is a "strict" policy against doing that) and will talk with guests and hit on girls the entire shift. If not, you can find him upstairs eating or on his phone FBing. God forbid you need him to speak with an unhappy guest. He'd much rather COMP their entire meal than to have to deal with them. He brings down employee morale during his shifts because he "doesn't want to manage" anymore. GIRLS WILL WORK HARDER HERE! The girl bartenders will be left alone behind the bar during peak restaurant hours so that the boys club could eat, socialize, etc... It will take longer than 4 mins for your guests to get their cocktails from the bar, no matter if it is a bottle of Miller Light or an old fashion. You will be punished for things that are out of your control. What led to me quitting?? All of my server shifts were taken away because I was unable to call out of my second job to work a shift for them. UNACCEPTABLE. Get ready for long hours with little pay."
