Working at Bell Performance in Casselberry, FL: 1 Employee Reviews

Bell Performance Employee

"During my four years at Bell Performance, a 100-year-old company, I encountered several issues that were concerning and should be considered for anyone who is thinking of joining the company. Below is a summary: 1. Their ‘Corporate Culture’ relies upon religion and discussion of divisive politics: • I understand that this is the South, and there are some who are very opinionated when it comes to both Politics and Religion. During weekly sales meetings, Bible passages were read and then a discussion would occur that attempted to relate that passage to business. This is a very uncomfortable position to be in if you are not Christian. • Politics were discussed daily, in open office corridors, so you could not escape hearing conversations because the main area of the office is all open cubicles. Keep in mind that Sales Calls are expected to be made with people humming and talking loudly behind you. • When both politics and religion are core values of a company, especially a small company, that should be clearly communicated during the hiring process. 2. Potential OSHA violations: • The ATP/Fuel Testing ‘Lab’ needs to be investigated by OSHA. Gallons of Diesel fuel sit in a ‘Lab’ which also serves as a storage room. I questioned this once and was basically told that ‘It’s mostly diesel fuel’ and it was fine. They also test Gas periodically in the office, putting employees at risk. 3. Ignoring public health directives and general uncleanliness: • Covid-19 has not been taken seriously at all by the company. Although mandated, not one person in the office wears a mask. • The President does not wash his hands after using the urinal (ever). I know this because my cubical was in the hallway where you could hear it flush and the door open immediately. It should be stated that I was the only one to consistently voice my concern about Glenn’s lack of hygiene, although most of the other employees there openly discussed the issue ‘behind closed doors’"
