"The work was always challenging and professional. The work place was well taken care of and the people were professional."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"It's cold in Idaho. Be sure you are up to the long winters and deep snow. After 7 years, I gave up primarily because of the cold winters."

What don't you like about working at Bechtel?

"The funding cycle for DOE caused work to go up and down. Lay-offs were very regular, about every 3 years. Bechtel was focused on keeping profits up and overall costs down. This made staying for a career unlikely."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"None. I generally liked the management at this company. I think Senior Management needs to think long term, concerning employees. If you lay off 1/3 of your employees each 3 or 4 years, it's hard to maintain a well qualified staff."
