"I love making everyone's day by bringing them that black gold, we all need every day. I can't wait to wake up and cheer everyone up for their upcoming work schedules. I wouldn't say I hate anything. Cleaning and keeping my work space clean is a great way to make everyone know your coffee shop is the place to be."

Barista at The Coffee Grove
in Villa Park, CA

What do you like about working at The Coffee Grove?

"I like to stalk, make drinks, and clean. I like that it is a family-owned business located in a small area and I can get to know regular customers. I work by myself most of the time. I work at my own fast pace. I like to custom-make drinks."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Take this job and run! It's the best job you'll ever have! Only for part-time or on the side work."

What don't you like about working at The Coffee Grove?

"I don't get nearly enough hours and get paid minimum wage. If I could own the coffee shop I would be elated. I don't like that regular customers can turn quickly if not taken care of the same way as they have been. I don't like how other employees take advantage of the freedoms we're given."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would have wifi, a credit card machine, and live music. Maybe a savory snack or two that is served instead of only pastries."

What do you like about working at Starbucks?

"Company is very supportive of employees, allows schedule for people in school, offers really good benefits."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"For the most part, this is a great company, There is freedom to go to school, and create your own schedule. Be prepared to work hard because people take their coffee very seriously. Also be prepared that there are some very rude customers, but that's not the company's fault. That's just the custumer's disposition."

What don't you like about working at Starbucks?

"Some of the coworkers are very young and irresponsible, they call in sick a lot. Manager gets irritated if there is a real emergency and talks down to employees if he/she needs to take an unscheduled day off. The new shift supervisors have let the title go to their heads and become little overbearing monsters."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would offer scholarships/reimbursement for college students for all majors/schools."
