Baker Hughes is a leading supplier of oilfield services, products, technology and systems to the worldwide oil and natural gas industry. "Working for this monster is ok if you like being just a number. In being an analyst, there isn't much room for growth unless you want to talk to and deal with customers and the stress that comes with the growth."

The product division I am responsible for supporting is a mess and I really don't understand how the company in general was able to obtain ISO9001 certification. Many of the designs and BOMs are incomplete or with serious errors, many things are not documented. Trying to find alternate source components sometimes can be a nightmare as many parts do not have original datasheet, and could not easily find an alternate."

Kind of hard to thank your co-worker for a job well done when he/she is laid off the next day! This company needs to get it's head together. It's too busy shuffling everybody around to effectively make positive change and people are constantly leaving to work for competitors, which I now understand why!"

"Relax. As long as you can show that you will be a pleasant person to work with, you're bound to get the job."

"It is not a good place to work in some countries of the Middle East."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Focus more on operations outside the USA. BHI lost a huge number of very talented staff in MENA countries because of how USA-centric it was in its leadership."

"My coworkers are a bright part of my day. It will be sad to give up their company. I think we are all on the same page when it comes to the compensation that Baker offers for the level of work we are performing."

"Don't. It is back-breaking work for very little compensation. You are going to get shafted if you have experience."

"Baker does not offer fair compensation for the level of work that they expect."
