Babcock & Wilcox Co. (B&W) is a leading provider of design and construction services for the energy industry, including nuclear power facilities. The company was founded in 1867 by Stephen Wilcox and George Babcock, and its initial product was a water boiler. Over the years, the company grew with the energy and defense industries, designing and building propulsion systems and nuclear reactors.

B&W has its corporate headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina. Among its achievements are the Manhattan Project, the world's largest boiler and the reactor plant for NASA probe that will travel to the moons of Jupiter. In 2011, the company reported net sales of nearly $3 billion.
