What suggestions do you have for management?
"Balance the workforce and rotate upper management so that no single person stays in a department for more than 7 years."
"There are things to criticize and improve, but it was an excellent experience, with a lot more good things than bad."
What do you like about working at AT&T?
"As a marketer I had full access to general consumer and customer information as no other company that I have been associated to. The team was open to suggestions and peers were accessible at all times to support strategic and tactical guidelines for a product or target. Excellent work atmosphere."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Final decision is of the supervisor (I was recruited by BellSouth not AT&T, so it may be different now), and one interview with Director and Sr Director was enough to get the job. Stay on the subject, they need to get back to work. Show your perseverance to get things done, they understand the prevailing atmosphere and require you to be able to go through red tape."
What don't you like about working at AT&T?
"It is an acronym heavy environment, therefore the initiation process can be brutal. There is traditional rigidity, although it was more prevalent in other areas than mine. To many hands in the same plate will keep the evolutionary process at a slow pace."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Less people with more responsibility assigned to each manager on strategy and creativity. Eliminate duplicity of functions of an advertising, marketing and media team in place."
