What do you like about working at Mingus Union High School?
"I liked working with the students and producing shows, concerts, assemblies and community events."
What don't you like about working at Mingus Union High School?
"In-fighting. Some of the administration was crooked, while others were ineffective. the year I left the Governing Board fired the superintendent, two vice principals, the human resource specialist and the office manager. All highly payed non-tenured teachers were encouraged to leave to make for a $250,000 short-fall in budget that no one could account for."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Pay a little more for the best. Streamline the top heavy (do nothing) Administration. It's a one-school district for goodness sake! The Superintendent should also be the high school principal with an Assistant Principal/Dean of Students who also is Activities Director. With only 1200 students, a Super, Business Manager, Principal, three Assistant Principals and four counselors is a little excessive and ineffectual."
