Applied Medical Employee

"I worked for applied medical for about a year as an in-process inspector. My daughter passed away in 2017. Human resources were very helpful with me dealing with this at first. My wife was having a hard time coping with what happened so I ask my manager for time off. He told me to stop milking it and if I go to human resources, I would get fired. The next day I was terminated for something I didn't do. I reached out to human resources and they didn't believe me. Prior to this happening, I took a loan out through the company to pay for the funeral. After I was fired, they sued me in court."

"Applied is a good company in which to work, as they provide lots of opportunities for experience in numerous disciplines. For a starting engineer, this is valuable. The compensation is lower than market value and they try to convince you that it is because they have a better environment, but this leads to high turnover, which causes those with senior level experience to leave, meaning that ideas are constantly rehashed that were previously attempted."

"I worked at Applied Medical after I decided to change career paths from being a physician. I was put in a role in which the ability to use my clinical knowledge and skills would have allowed the team to advance much faster than they were. The company is fairly young, and never had great organization, so these individuals with applicable skills are often not used and tend to end up feeling defeated and leaving."

"Applied Medical is a new age medical device company, with a forward thinking and nice culture. The culture between departments is that of co-operation and not competition. The company also strongly lives up to it's talk of giving back to the community with both it's internal mentorship programs, but also it's community outreach programs which it provides to various charities and communities in need."

"I've worked in Applied Medical for 5 years in administration and supervisor role. Applied Medical is a fair working environment, people are friendly, team players. Applied Medical has many different departments and team members, always has a chance to move up their position in other departments. Supervisors/managers are very supportable and willing to assist their team members."

Software Engineering Intern

"Applied Medical is a great company. At least it applies to the department that I'm working in. The folks here are knowledgeable. The Software/Testing team seriously lacks the young blood. As an intern, I love my job. The schedule is very flexible and it is quite relaxing. The pay rate is quite low. Gaining access to internet and your own computer can be a pain sometimes."
