"I have worked for Applied Materials for 2 years, thru all the time that I needed off for military, family matters, the company was really willing to work with me. They provided all the training that I needed, I was able to be a Customer Engineer at Intel working on High Density Plasma."

"Get it in writing."

What don't you like about working at Applied Materials?

"Poor hourly compensation. Benefits package (no co car, no mileage)."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Bring back the co car."

"The company was agreat place to work but involved to much west coast travel."

"I like the working environment (cleanroom), the benefits, and the places I got to see during my travels."

What don't you like about working at Applied Materials?

"The traveling became to much and too far. I took an east coast job and ended up spending 90% of my working time on the west coast of the country."

"Great place for training, hard to advance because community is so small."

What do you like about working at Applied Materials?

"It always made me think about how to best solve a problem and how to recognize like-problems later. I loved working with intricate machines involving electronics/mechanical/software/exotic gases/high-vacuum and computer hardware."

"Learn your job well but be satisfied with being on the same level of duty/responsibilities for a long time."

What don't you like about working at Applied Materials?

"Advancement not likely very soon; support from upper management thin."

"We are all on the same team! If one of us does well, the entire team looks good."

"Tough work, lack of stability, lots of money to be made."

"Lack of stability in job. Job depended upon the customer more than how successful my own company was doing."

"Tell the truth about contracts and do not exaggerate when tempting someone to take a contract."

What don't you like about working at Applied Materials?

"I was told that if I traveled on the Global Install Team for years that I would have my choice of where I could relocate wherever Applied Materials were located. They relocated to a site not of my choice and then laid me off 2 months later. Very misleading."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Don't make promises to their employees and not follow through. After I was told I was laid off I was immediately offered a job with their major customer."

"Originally it was a great company to work for. Then they got a new Manager and he does layoffs so he can get his bonus."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"They should fire the Manager."
