"Employer informed after interview they like keeping oeople waiting so will inform if i got position at least by next week. Didnt hear anything for antoher month. They went through 2 staffing agencies to get me hired on and it was confising and frustaiting took 3 weeks. Once i started my first day they sent me back to another side of town because they fualed to give me drug test information before hand. And i couldnt work before taking drug test. The peraon they had me shadowing talked about everyone to me the whole time and compakined about horrible pay for too mich work. I had grew frustrated and resigned . They insured id get paid for the full 8 hr shift consdiering i drove 30 mons to work just to drive 35 mins to another side of town for drug test 4 hours into shift. They did not get my direct deposit details but insured id get paid. Have yet to get confirmation whether they are sneding via check or would like my DD details. Frustrating experience overall."

"I've only been with the company a week or so. So far I've clicked with the team and management. The work environment is your usual cube setup. Safety is job one in everything we do. I have a good bit of leeway in getting my job completed. It should be a good job for the long haul."

"The people are great, but the environment can be difficult to adapt to. Compensation is awesome, but don't bank on bonuses. Health benefits are sub-par. Death by meetings, which is pretty standard in large corporations these days. There is very limited avenue for growth, and rising tends to involve switching departments or even leaving and returning. There is a constant worry about layoffs due to realignment of resources toward R&D (code words). A lot has been outsourced. Enthusiastic CEO."

"My best advice would be to not interview, as you will be miserable there."

What don't you like about working at Applied Materials?

"Industry is moving out of US to Asia. If you are not an Asian, you have no future here."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Not much to suggest. There are huge industry related problems and pressures on revenue, and constant concerns about lay offs. No easy solutions, I am sorry for everyone working there, including management."

What do you like about working at Applied Materials?

"I like working with people in my team, the systems, the opportunity to do more projects."

"You got to know someone at the organization to be successful."

"I do not like the maintained close neck organization."

"I would encourage them to work on organizational culture and ethics."
