2.5I have worked at Appen Since July 2019, shortly after I graduated from the University of Houston. My duty related to evaluate, improve, and optimize the company products for users worldwide, including social media platforms, search engines, voice recognition systems, and more. As an Internet Application Analyst, my main objective is quality control and ensure the users received the service the application intended to do. Also, the job required strong communication skills to report back to the supervisor in written regarding the issue of the application, in order to apply for the future update.
The company is great, however, I feel I am lack of opportunity to grow. It has been more than half a year, and I have been done the same on a weekly basis. The job is remote, so I have not met anyone else in the company, which makes me feel that I am not part of the company.
3.7I've worked for Appen for 2 years as a Recruitment Team Lead. Appen collects and labels images, text, speech, audio, video, and other data used to build and continuously improve the world’s most innovative artificial intelligence systems. Our expertise includes having a global crowd of over 1 million skilled contractors who speak over 180 languages and dialects, in over 70,000 locations and 130 countries, and the industry’s most advanced AI-assisted data annotation platform. Our reliable training data gives leaders in technology, automotive, financial services, retail, healthcare, and governments the confidence to deploy world-class AI products. Founded in 1996, Appen has customers and offices globally.
3.6Appen is a great site to work through if you're looking for something you can do from the comfort of your own home. The pay is a little on the low side and you don't interact much with others, but if you enjoy a lot of freedom to focus on your work, then it's perfect. I also really enjoy the flexibility of the schedule. While there are certain restrictions to how much work you can do in a given day, you can work any day at any time, which is great for your life outside of work. There is very little room for progress up the ladder, however, so it can get frustrating if want to do more for the company or you don't have other goals outside.
