"Pay is on the low side. Managers here are burnt out and treat their employees poorly in return. Expensive insurance plans for a healthcare company. I worked in recruiting and some of the managers were so toxic and would micromanage everything. Lots of pressure to perform. 80-100 calls a day to recycled leads. We would be encouraged to call people who asked to not be contacted anymore. Iffy ethics. We would have meetings where management would basically try to brainwash us by telling us how much money we could make if we "just did better". Someone was always breathing down our necks. We would often be encouraged to work overtime or weekends to get additional work done. Work-life balance was a joke. I also worked in billing and the workload for the amount of pay is extremely ridiculous. Managers are all high-strung, and in turn all team members feel stressed and underpaid. There was also a massive layoff for the credentialing department and I'm glad I got a chance to leave before there was another round of layoffs."

"AMN is an amazing company to work for. I have had opportunities to work across a number of departments and really learn about total talent support in healthcare. They have lots of ways to help and I have been able to work across nursing, locums, and even finance. Highly recommend both working here and also signing up as a traveler or working with their recruiting team."

"I applied, was hired, signed a contractual agreement, traveled over 2k miles to site/city, completed drug screen and background check only to be informed I was "not qualified" for the position. In my six years as a traveling therapist, I have never experienced such an inconsiderately disrespectful company. I understand assignments close and/or are canceled but my the lack of communication and disrespect for my time and money is absurd. I was never reimbursed for my travels or license for this assignment, and I was basically pushed out the door without warning. The recruiter blatantly lied and left me in the dust. This company sucks; be mindful of who you trust and where you are sharing your time."

"This is not a good company to work with. the credentialing department is very hard to work with. Every year you have to get a physical, to keep working for them."

"I've worked for AMN Healthcare since 2019 and I've grown tremendously from my experience. Starting in an entry role I really was privy to mentorships, shadowing, training, and a team that was readily available to jump in and assist where needed. I never felt alone, always felt supported, and was challenged to hit higher and higher metrics."

"I was employed at AMN Healthcare before reduction in staff due to COVID-19. The company is a leader in contingent healthcare staffing. They lack in the locums arena because of lack of sense of urgency, but they are working to enhance their credentialing. I am grateful for the opportunity and all I learned during my time with AMN. AMN has since reached out to me and offered me a temporary position."

"AMN Healthcare is the largest healthcare staffing provider in the U.S., headquartered in San Diego. It primarily specializes in travel nursing, but has a portfolio of acquired companies and brands that contribute to healthcare in various ways."

"I worked for MedPartners from 2007-2018 when in April of that year, they sold to AMN Healthcare. When it was a small privately owned company, the culture was wonderful. Very family oriented and the owners always made sure we all had a work life balance. They allowed us to run our desks as we saw fit, as long as it resulting in producing. As expected, once the company was bought, the culture slowly began to change which is why I chose to take the mutual separation package that was offered due to decline sales caused by COVID."

"The majority of the culture as a whole is good, but the politics and favoritism are not. I have no issue with accepting ownership of my mistakes but wasn't a fan of being blamed for disconnects or gaps in other depts for those that wouldn't take ownership of their mistakes. Also not a fan of being singled out and humiliated amongst peers on topics that should be discussed privately or my work being rolled over to someone else to take my commissions on. If you're a favorite from a political standpoint, your very catered to and hello on a pedestal. If you are not, then it'll be a completely opposite experience. Compensation is good, but you're always on call and lacking work/life balance."

"They do not care about their employees, and I will explain. They may be a good place to learn skills and learn metrics, but then move on. They don't pay well, they are changing incentive pay structures for the worse and going against labor laws to do so. It is in their handbook that: employees who no longer work there are not eligible to receive commission (incentive pay), which means if you quit you may not receive your whole last month of incentive pay (commission pay). They got their team of lawyers to come up with the term incentive pay instead of commission so they could bypass this and also they will pick and choose who gets paid their last commission, as I know plenty of people who quit and did receive their final commission, but I did not...but it is backed up by their guidebook so they can protect themselves instead of pay you for the work that you did."
