Amica Mutual Insurance Employee

"Terrible office politics. High employee turnover. Antiquated systems they are trying to update - but all employees are not on the same page in terms of understanding the changes. If you take a vacation you return to a mountain of work and are then pestered for not catching it up quickly enough, when little was done to cover on you in your absence. No dedicated nationwide trainer - so regional staff resources are strained to train new employees. Poor compensation in relation to the demands of position. An office with a seasonal mite infestation (I am not kidding-I broke out in a rash and so did my coworkers). The management knew there was a problem and didn't bother to tell me until I had staff members telling me about their symptoms. Management that is more concerned about not upsetting the apple cart and covering their arses than they are about dealing with any of the issues within their own office or in the virtual network of offices. The company situates its offices in wealthy areas, to correspond with its traditional client base. However, the compensation of the T.A. position renders the individual poor when trying to pay for housing and living expenses in these areas. This contributes to disrespect of the person and the position within the office."
