Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"If you apply direct; unless you know somebody that has major pull, you won't get hired. However if you live cross state, then the HR recruiters would love to steal you from your current company and pay boatloads of money to relocate you. That might be your best strategy to even get an interview. Be prepared for a multitude of panel interviews."

"No potential for growth. Amgen does not like to promote from within. HR department has become bloated with becoming the police department. The decision power should lie within the highly paid management teams that focus on everyday operations."

"Amgen pays an insane amount of money to train and grow employees, but spends its HR resources recruiting and relocating from the outside. Doesn't make any sense. The decision power should lie within the highly paid management teams that focus on everyday operations."

"Some of the managers I've worked with there are so secure in their positions from having worked there for so many years they've pulled up their drawbridge and retreated into their offices, where they sit counting their 401-K, and don't care about or have much sympathy for the people under them who are trying to move up."

What suggestions do you have for management?
"Review your policies on riffed employes re-applying for work at any of your AMGEN sites. My superior in Longmont was fired for employee harrassment shortly after I was laid off (I desired to be laid off because of the terrible atmosphere that he created). This was in Longmont, CO, NOT at the corporate office. His behaviour would have been identified and rectified long before it was in CO."
