"Hire people based on skill level, not just on personality of the person. I think it should be a combination of both, and then see if they fit with the other personalities of the team. Also, to hire people who are hungry to learn and accept new technologies and challenges."

"I hated Amgen Rhode Island. Quitting was hard because they pay well, but it was the best decision of my life."

"Stay away from the Rhode Island site... management is dysfunctional, and people step on each other to get ahead. It doesn't seem to be this way at the other Amgen sites... only Rhode Island."

"Promotions were not based on technical skill, rather, the ability to 'suck up' to upper management... and not many of the upper managers were that competent compared to the lower level engineers."
