"American Water is a very sedate and relaxed place to work. The corporate culture is down-to-earth and the company is fairly flat. There has some turmoil over the past few years about how much the company would embrace technology but that has resolved itself with the choice of a new CEO, who is a back to basics type. Definitely not a place that values disruptive innovation, but rather one that is focused on their core business and steady performance."
