What do you like about working at American Intercontinental University?
"I loved working with the students and loved the product we had for the students. At the beginning we had total autonomy with our schedule and the way we worked. It was awesome. However, as the company grew, we added more layers of MICRO managers and in the end were not even allowed to go the bathroom without permission!"
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

What don't you like about working at American Intercontinental University?
"I didn't like the fact that it took a real turn for the worse. It went from being an open collaborative environment to one where every breath was monitored. We were penalized for being 3 minutes late for work, even though we may have stayed later. We were not allowed to work over time without written permission. We had to account for every second of our time. IF we took five minutes to go to the bathroom, we were grilled as to why we were not on the phones for that five minutes. It got really oppressive and nit picky."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Recognize that most employees will perform their best when they are given the opportunity to be engaged in the decisions that impact their day to day activities. The or else attitude needs to stop. Middle Managers need to be more responsive to their groups and less likely to throw someone under the bus to cover their own behinds for something that didn't go well. Stop hiding behind it's for the needs of the business when you blatantly make changes that have a negative impact on morale. Your employees can see right through your ruses."
