"The paycheck wasn't even worth the headache. This was absolutely the worst experience. Nothing positive to say."

"Run don't walk from this company! Do not bother unless you can not get work elsewhere."

What don't you like about working at Amedisys?

"Pay per visit compared with actual time worked is extremely poor. Long unpaid hours, reduntant and repetative documentation, too many managers and the right hand has no idea or even cares what the left hand is doing. Mileage reimbursement is what they think you should have driven and not what you actually drove. It is expected that you use your personal cell phone and you must answer calls at all hours, getting reimbursed for business calls is like a republican trying to get through Obama's congress. No reimbursement, they do not pay your bill or any part and dictate how your outgoing message is to sound and when you should have your phone on. Extremely political on all levels. Not concerned with patient care in the least exept staying out of court for malpractice. Horrible career experience. I will give up nursing before experiencing this again! Medical benifits offered to employees is subject to pre-existing conditions."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Re organize, rebuilld, restructure the whole company. Get rid of the stepford house wife mentality. If you ask your employees for input listen and don't berate and punish them because their input was not to your liking though professionally and appropriately stated."

"I worked with a fabulous group of professionals in the office. The problem was the direction the individuals above me wanted services provided."

"Amedisys didn't have a Release Manager when I was hired. It has been a wonderful opportunity to put that function into place complete with required processes, documentation, and templates."

"Contractors are second class citizens. Poor working conditions."

"Management has been slow to incorporate RM into their RACI model and it still hasn't granted them a vote in the Change Management Board."

"Obtain a clear and concise understanding of your job description; how payroll functions and exactly how you will be paid for your work; do not be bullied into taking on more than you feel you can handle."

"The inconsistencies of reliable resources and information needed to do my job effectively."

"Implement a more organized, thorough orientation for new employees followed with a 60 to 90 day review to gauge effective job performance, skill, etc..."

"help carve out better opportunities to draw clinical staff to serve our patient load, need to offer something different then the other agencies in town, that have been here for decades and have established business."
