Allegiant Air Overview

Allegiant Air is a budget airline that operates both charter flights and scheduled air routes to leisure destinations in the southern United States. Established in 1997 by parent company Allegiant Travel, the company found success with the casino industry, offering charter service from California cities to Las Vegas. Allegiant gradually expanded its services to destination in Arizona, Florida and Hawaii, from small airports in the upper Midwest.

Allegiant has its headquarters in Enterprise, Nevada. Its fleet of more than 60 jet aircraft flies to nearly 80 destinations in the southern U.S., Canada and Mexico. Its successful market strategy is to serve small airports where travel to leisure destinations is limited. In 2009, the company generated approximately $558 million in revenues.
