"Competitiveness. Was a good local paper. Opportunity to make good commissions with a decent base salary."

"Company has gone thru many changes in the past 2 years from an ownership point of view. They have scaled down considerable and repeatedly. Good place to start at and learn."

What don't you like about working at Akron Beacon Journal?

"Decisions to go in different directions on a constant basis, no continuity. Switched up territories causing some to go from those they grew to smaller ones which affected commissions."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Develop a plan and follow it. Programs were unfair to regular and long term advertisers and instead catered to new advertisers. This caused a roller coaster of business cycles."
