"A lot of what I do does not require heavy supervision. I know what my responsibilities are and I am given the tools and the trust to complete my work in an efficient and timely basis."

"To be patient and understanding, despite many of their short and long term ideals. The work is rewarding, and worthwhile."

"The current uncertainty regarding the future of AIG creates an atmosphere of tension. The uncertainty and tension promote stress and feelings of helplessness and doubt among many of its employees."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Despite the problems of the parent corporation, management cannot, should not, and must not devalue their employees, who have shown incredible patience and loyalty with very little reward in return, especially in the short term, and definitely not in the long term. No one currently has any illusions that they will be retiring at AIG."

"AIG is the cheapest insurance company out there when it comes to salary. Managers choose their favorites and if you are not one of them, you will be there for years before even the possibility of a promotion, while the favorites who started after you are already managers, VP's, etc."

"Quit choosing favorites and promote people based on seniority and/or qualifications."

"Not sure... maybe job security. It's a great place to retire once you are done growing."

"From a technology perspective only come to work at AIG if you're ready to retire. If you're looking for growth, look elsewhere."

"Poor benefits, average pay (at best), lack of bonus. your skills do not dictate how much you make, it's all about what you can negotiate."

"From a technology perspective please leave and pave the way for some technology savvy and knowledgeable people to come in and manage the IT depts."
