What do you like about working at 24 Hour Fitness?

"If you're even remotely close to fulfilling the minimum requirements of your job, your employment is secure."

What don't you like about working at 24 Hour Fitness?

"The company fosters an environment of mediocrity. For a corporate employee, your annual pay raise is essentially capped at 3%. The difference between an outstanding employee and a sloth of a human being is valued at 1%. As a result, good employees end up quitting for better opportunities, as advancement is also restricted to arbitrary measures of worth (e.g., who grabs a beer or engages in illicit activity with select individuals), with the exception being if you're a woman. With the new 'diversity council', there's been a surge of under-qualified women being boosted up the food chain to pretty up the demographics. My guess is there was some sort of litigation that spurred this. If you look at the organizational hierarchy, you'll notice a significant number of directors and managers who actually have no employees reporting to them (insider tip: they're all women). I've seen a lot of reviews from club employees that corporate doesn't care about you, and to be honest, they don't. It should be obvious with the astronomical attrition. Chances are, as a brand new club manager or personal trainer, you will be gone in three months time, so investing in you on a perceived 'career path' just isn't a viable goal; warm bodies are all that are needed. Sure, the hiring cost hits the bottom line, but the cost/benefit analysis was done and you guys came up short. Upper management is composed of lackeys that followed our fearless leader from such failed enterprises as Mervyn's and Circuit City. Every time you see an announcement about a new senior vice president of (enter vague and meaningless title here), you'll know where they came from."
