"I preferred to be a regular employee versus a contract employee. Several attempts from Ford Personnel and Ford Managers to bring me on as a Ford employee, the final decision was 1 admin head versus 1 engineer head - admin head lost out."

"There should be a policy instated to hire a contract employee if they have been there for 10 or more years."

"The management is full of idiots only there because of nepotism. The executives are troglodytes, the company has a terrible relationship with the union. The company's manufacturing system and quality is a joke compared to the competition. Ford is 20 years behind GM, and 40 years behind Toyota."

"My immediate supervisor is great. I like what I'm doing and I'm good at it. We get a lot of vacation days (thanks to the UAW negotiations), though they are getting cut back."

"No one is hiring except Finance. That's the way it's been for the last 8 years."

What don't you like about working at Ford Motor?

"Jobs are basically all in Michigan and I hate the winter. Job security is nonexistent due to economy and rough times, which causes churn and stress. But we are making it through."

"We could use fewer supervisors and managers and more worker bees. Seems the job cuts aimed at the doers of the work at a much higher ratio than the supervisors of the work!"
