"They need to focus more on allowing their account executives more time in front of customers and less time scheduling internal meetings that take time away from that."

"Stress you are able to work the hours needed to get the job done."

What don't you like about working at YRC Worldwide?

"Some older managers were allowed to hang on too long. They promoted a hostile work environment between drivers & supervisors. The true downfall of Roadway was it's purchase by Yellow. Even with some marginal managers remaining in place, Roadway was a better run company then Yellow but after the purchase, Yellow removed the good upper level management while still allowing the poor managers to remain in place."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Have a growth plan for you supervisors & management. I was very successful with the company but got frustrated when the company (Yellow-Roadway) couldn't tell me what my next step was. I was in a dead-end job for a year & finally got frustrated and resigned,"

"The long hours and the travel at times."

"Stay focused on what you have in front of you."

"Ever since the day I started my position, there has been constant bad news which makes me worry about the stability of the company."

"Value your Account Managers and learn what motivates your sales force."

"Take care of your people. Do not revert to old management systems."

"They retired the only great management team they had from 1980 to 1995!"

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Just be careful and keep your options open for other employment. Take them seriously when they expect you to work different shifts. As a single father my children really hung in there and sacrificed a lot while their father worked at Roadway Express."

What don't you like about working at YRC Worldwide?

"There is no sense of direction. In otherwords expectations for Time Critical Dispatch for Over-the-road freight was absolutely UNREALISTIC. Freight was still arriving well after 10:00pm that was destined to go out that very same night and management expected outbound operations to be completed earliest 10:00pm latest 12:00pm.There was no respect for anyone. This came from the top brass and trickled down the ladder.Lastly, I have never encountered a Terminal Manager who insisted you attend events out-of state especially when gas prices where going through the roof. He never organized anything in the Chicago area because he lived in Indiana. Down right shame."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Cut-off time for P&D to be completed by 6:00pm. I still see Roadway trucks out there making pick-ups well after 8:00pm.Get your Fast-Track Program organized. You have failed miserably on this training program for 4 years straight."
