Director
in Canton, NY

"YAP, dont get comfortable."

What do you like about working at Youth Advocate Programs?

"Multiple out of town trainings in nice hotels was the only good thing about this organization."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Only apply with this organization if you have no alternatives, and if you do get employed, continue your search as they will exhaust you and your abilities and then find a way to make anything that ever went wrong your fault. This is not exactly what happened to me, but I had seen it done to countless others. Oh, I almost forgot, they also lie immensely, to employees, clients and funders."

What don't you like about working at Youth Advocate Programs?

"Everything. Mostly the problem is with upper management, who do not know what it is like to work with youth and families day in and out. They have unrealistic expectations of their families, and when anything goes on a program level, the state and/or county director will find a way to blame the next people below them and use their at will employment classification to their fullest extent."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Get your expectations in check, and understand that not every person is able to receive assistance or even wants it."
