"I worked for York Risk Services Group for over a year and a half and found the work challenging and interesting. My co-workers where very professional and great to work with. However, I felt that management did not do a very good job at giving clear direction and leading the team."
"York Has a strong commitment to its customers with a high customer retention."
"Company did not pay as agreed or reimburse expenses as agreed. The opportunity is presented as offering fair pay and a flexible schedule. The reality is this is really a way for the company to pay less than minimum wage to get the job done. The job is misrepresented and grossly over-simplified. Once you start tracking all of your time and expenses you will realize that the deck is stacked against you and there is no realistic way you are even going to make minimum wage. You'd be better off to go work at Jack in the Box."
"York has a bad reputation in the claims field and after working here for about a year I can say the reputation is deserved. They put the needs of the client so far ahead of the adjusters and have unreasonable expectations over what can be done in an 8 hr day. Claims counts are high and there is so much turnover. There have been layoffs recently because they are looking business. Local management is good but upper management does not have a clue. Senior VP came a few months ago to talk about bonuses that no one gets. Co-workers are great but senior management is poor. Salaries are below average."
"I have never worked for an employer as openly hostile to the needs of its employees. York has no idea how to properly manage a workers' compensation claims operation, and refuses to support its employees in their work. This has become obvious as they have recently demoted the RVP and AVP responsible for the Florida offices, and the most recent Unit Manager quit after 3 weeks. Overall, a horrible place to work deserving of its dreadful reputation in the industry."
