"Excessive workload for little pay, few opportunities for advancement, and NO, I REPEAT NO, opportunity for raises or bonuses over time."

"I would make advancement opportunities more available to my employees."

"Yelp is a great company within its space. I was truly blessed to have the opportunity to grow professionally and personally at Yelp. The experience I gained in advertising and marketing has put me in a great position to expand my skills. Ad sales at Yelp has shown me only one side of the marketing world. "Yelp was a very fun place to work initially. However it became very impersonal and almost catty later on. I needed to leave and find some place I felt like I could be noticed and make a difference. When I ended up leaving, I felt like I was leaving a home. However I also felt disconnected from a lot of the coworkers as the company had become so large that it was impossible to know nearly everyone in the office environment. I would go back to them ONLY if I was part of the account management teams."

With various departments and a multitude of resources, Yelp provides one with the reigns to start or jumpstart a career in tech. There are more lateral rather than upward opportunities to grow, however."
