Xanterra Travel Collection Employee

"Xanterra honestly has no clue how to run hotels properly. Their only concern is their bottom line. When profit levels are not where upper management wants them to be, executives never take inventory of what they offer the public in terms of amenities and services. Automatically, the blame falls on the employees who inevitably have their hours cut at the slightest drop in occupancy levels or profit margin. Since Xanterra operates on as little staff as possible, cutting the staff further causes complete failure in providing adequate customer service, let alone providing unforgettable memories. Upper management absolutely does not believe in mentorship or empowering their employees. Micromanagement is absolute here. If you are a frontline employee, any ideas you may have to improve morale will be dismissed as though you don't have a functioning brain cell in your head. Housing is cheap, but it is poorly maintained. At this time, if you are not a manager, you will be living in a dorm, and may not even be able to have a microwave or crock pot, depending on the employee cafeteria where the food is barely digestible, the service is surly, and there are limited hot food hours each meal period."
