"an organization where mediocre leadership and management are at the helm, mediocre staff rises to the top. At best, this will lead to half-backed costly technical solutions and most of the time unsuccessful and problematic solutions. Team leaders who lack integrity will not endure the test of time. It doesn’t matter how affable, persuasive, or savvy they are in office politics, if they are prone to rationalizing unethical behavior based upon current or future needs they will eventually fall prey to their own undoing Self-Serving Nature: If a leader doesn’t understand the concept of “service above self” they will not engender the trust, confidence, and loyalty of those they lead. Any leader is only as good as his or her team’s desire to be led by them. An over abundance of ego, pride, and arrogance are not positive leadership traits. Long story short; if a leader receives a vote of non-confidence from their subordinate, game over."

"A toxic culture full of mediocre managers and team leaders who abuse the competent and honest staff. Senior Program Manager - Washington, DC. HR is a back-office function that supports the incompetent managers (mostly political hires) and does not matter. Pros: Contractors get to stick around become a staff and get their green cards Cons: Non-inclusive, lacking in consideration, courtesy, and dignity for others, bullying, harassment and hostility, no career path, and no advancement"

"I've worked for the World Bank Group since 2015. It is the best and most established supranational entity with no peers as a close competitor. Like any other financial institution, however, it has the produce more for less culture."

"The World Bank is an interesting place. It has always been very political and right now is going under a big reorganization. You only get in if you know someone. The pay is good, but somehow they don't know how to keep employees, and they let bosses treat employees any way they want."
