"The company was great when I first started and felt as though I would retire here. However Covid-19 came along and the company made no effort to retain or even furlough workers and just told me that my position was being eliminated. The new President started on Jan 1 and perhaps this was part of his master plan. Although I received a severance package there was no warning for myself or anyone on my team. This entire incident was handled very poorly. The company (at a corporate level) prides itself on how it supports local communities and what a great corporate citizen they are but when it comes down to treating their existing employees they come up woefully short....especially in a situation like this! They let all of these people (myself included) in the middle of the worst pandemic in 100 years where job prospects were practically non existent. I wish I could say I was the only one that was treated like this but it was across the board."
