"I have worked at WotC since 2010, and the company doesn't like to compensate its FTEs with the current market rates. Most people are now leaving FTE positions only to return as vendors. Moving up within the company is difficult if you are not 'friendly' with some folks."

"I worked here for many years and a shift from the entrepreneurial spirit that built the company to a cold Microsoft-esque upper management style has stagnated the company and driven all creativity from the workforce. Before 2006 this was the place to be but since then it has been nothing but a downward spiral. I am thankful every day that I chose to leave and pursue a career elsewhere."

"I enjoyed working here until the current HR department came to be. They are not conductive to bettering the company. It is because of them we are losing talent. I will return once they are gone."

Manager

"oddest job experience ever, but had some amazing learning opportunities."

What do you like about working at Wizards of the Coast?

"They fired the store manager, and the assitant manager quit, they did not replace either so the staff stepped up and ran the store. I got to experience what it was like to be an assistant manager for about six months. It was fun, challenging, and I learned a lot. I was given the rope to either hang my self of succeed and I succeeded!"

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Don't they're closed, and the corporate tile is now held by Hasbro."

What don't you like about working at Wizards of the Coast?

"They gave us conflicting messages, and made a bunch of bad calls. They also closed the store, albeit three months after they had planned since we were ironically doing better without proper management."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Let your stores be more individualistic, tailor your sales plans to the local clientele, and trust that your employees can do a good job."
