What do you like about working at East Central University?
"The campus is nice, many of the people are as well."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"If you're not being hired for a top tier job, then your pay will be less than half what you can make elsewhere. The benefits do not make up that difference by at all. I would recommend going elsewhere."
What don't you like about working at East Central University?
"Low pay, no chance for advancement, working four jobs, no pay increases due to budget limitations."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Keep the promises you make when hiring. Pay attention to when your employees are grossly overworked."

"Difficult to be productive - you'd better be good at politics to work there. Doesn't matter if you know your stuff as much."

"The end of the day."

"Move on, unless you're incompetent and a real suckie. If that's you, you'll fit in perfectly."

"The beginning of the day, and all the rest, up until the end of the day. Viciously political setting."

"Find out what's going on in the trenches. You won't believe the little fiefdoms that everyone is setting up."

"Management did not care to get involved in what I was working on."

"Some of the tech folks were really nice."

"Get EVERYTHING in writing."

"Some of the management folks were NOT nice."

"Get aware of what's going on in the trenches. Fire the people that are not trying to improve the company."

"Highly professional people working in a very difficult environment, particularly the service people - they always went above and beyond the call of duty."

"Be prepared to work hard and prove yourself."

"Letting go so many good people."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Be fair with your employees and remember they have families who need them too. Pay for better medical and dental plans for your employees. Your employees practically live there and will require and deserve good medical care, especially because they give so much of themselves."

What do you like about working at General Dynamics?
"Did not like it, many staff members let go, no training or new employee orientation. Overreach in a huge way as to the responsibilities were on a technical level, and duties assigned to people with the wrong skillset, (A PhD for animals assigned to the full scope of web design and development - not the Web Designer) With that said it is a Gov. Contract for the military and GDIT does not have say as to who gets assigned to do what."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Know who is directly responsible for you and what your responsibilities are, and if there is no Project Manager who understands your position, DO NOT BOTHER. And do not come on to a contract at the end of a contract cycle."
What don't you like about working at General Dynamics?
"Scared to ruffle feathers."

"Don't just stick someone in a position without a supervisor or Project Manager. Know what the position is AND WHERE IT IS GOING, and ensure the management understands the position and its responsibilities."

"Hired contractors and let go of full-time folks when there wasn't enough work."

"Work hard at getting billable work so they don't lose good full time talent."

What do you like about working at Variety.com?
"The challenge and opportunity to work with people who are very committed to their area of the business. Running a major website is like playing traffic cop sometimes - and its great when we can bring the editorial, sales, and development areas all together."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Check your ego at the door. This is the real deal."
What don't you like about working at Variety.com?
"We have had some serious challenges with content delivery. A daily news publication doesn't necessarily fit well in a Reed Business's business model - so there are struggles that I know are being overcome. Tad Smith, Jeff DeBalko, and Tracy Young are absolutely outstanding at what they do - and so the negative is really a positive!"
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Variety is a daily publication (or at least it was), and I understand the issues RBI faced with managing that type of asset. You took the design and turned it into a tabloid! With all of the good things you have done (initiating the out front program, etc) - at the end of the day - its now that much harder to distinguish Vairety from other players :("
