"It's a pay check, not a career choice."

What do you like about working at Volt Technical Resources?

"It was a pay check"

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Get as much information about the job as you can. I never interviewed with Volt but with the client that I was working for, which I enjoyed working for. From what I understand working for Volt corporate is not much better than being one of their contract employees. Stay grounded, do not become overly loyal to the client as you are just a cheap alternative to them employing someone directly. You may hear stories about contract workers being hired, and while this does happen, it usually takes two things: you have knowledge that would not be easily replaced (specific skill set) and you are completely willing and ready to quit if they don't hire you."

What don't you like about working at Volt Technical Resources?

"Everything. Vacation and time off do not exist. Raises are less than minimal (3% after 24mo, 2.5% year after that).Health care was incredibly expensive and very minimal. No vision or dental coverage. No 401k matching. There is no job protection as you are contract and could be let go of when ever the client feels they don't need you.No opportunity for advancement. No communication from Volt management."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"The turnover rate, at least where I was placed, is fairly high. This is mostly due to the fact that other than the money, you could work for Volt or work food service somewhere. Although at least food service has room for advancement. They need to communicate better with their employees, let them know where things are headed and about changes in benefits. My health care costs practically doubled overnight without warning.Make other positions known and available before looking outside. This may leave a temporary hole for the client but it is only fair and the only way that a person could move up in the company. Additionally, when a need arises for a highly skilled individual and you don't look at the the people that have been there for years, you pass up the opportunity for filling the position with the most qualified candidate."

Programming Writer

"Work here at your own peril."

What do you like about working at Volt Technical Resources?

"There is very little positive to say about a bottom feeding company like this one. They have zero respect for their employees and only exist because it's illegal to own slaves."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"They seem to facilitate and promote liars. If you're a career liar, this is the job for you!"

What don't you like about working at Volt Technical Resources?

"The primary thing was how they expected their employees to pay about 1/2 of the gross pay BACK to volt for the privilege of getting health benefits. I can get awesome HMO packages for only 250.00 a month, whereas Volt expected me to pay 975.00 a month for full health coverage. I declined of course. They also lie about how much paid time off you'll get."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I can only suggest unprintable things, thus I have nothing that I can think of that will actually improve Volt."

Technical Specialist

"I was recruited to Boeing and sent to Volt as the position was for contract labor."

Technical Support Team Lead

"Help the ones that help you."

What do you like about working at Volt Technical Resources?

"Volt seems to care about their employees, to a point!"

What don't you like about working at Volt Technical Resources?

"The skills assesment test. Keep that on file for your candidates. It's really insulting to have to take that test EVERY time I apply for a position. The lack of help finding a position. Absolutely no contact from Volt since leaving the call center. If I was a good employee, why don't you want to keep me at the top of the list for the next positions"

What suggestions do you have for management?

"If I did a good job at the call center, why have I not been contacted about any other positions since. I have applied to several through the Volt site but nobody has contacted me."

What don't you like about working at Volt Technical Resources?

"This company was completely unethical and exploited me as a worker. I lost money in that job. It cost me more just to move to the location of the job than the money I actually earned working the job. That crooked company would not even reimburse me for the relocation expense. They placed me at a racist client site where I was subjected to racial discrimination. I could not protest the racist firing because I was a consultant and consultants do not have worker's rights. That company ruined my life."
