"I have never in my life heard of a company who fires someone non stop until this place. They give unrealistic expectations that no one can clearly meet and then find ways to treat you like crap till they fire you or you quit. I know of 3 people fired within the last 5 months, all of which were wonderful employers. What a corrupt place."

"On the outside, the company and its managers seem friendly and helpful. But on the inside, they expect you to work 80 hours a week with no added benefits or gratitude. This is a very unethical company that has no values other than to make as much money as possible with giving as little as possible to its employees. I only recommend working here short-term, as employees only seem to stick around for a few months before they're overwhelmed or mistreated."

"The company is failing. For years there has not been a profit made and money frivolously spent to maintain an image. The people that are employed with the company have a passion for education and making a difference. Unfortunately the CEO is not of the same mindset. The tactics used to secure contracts with school districts is embarrassing. They are promised a great sales pitch but there are not enough resources and manpower to follow through. The wheels are falling off of this bus. Quickly."

"Chaotic, unorganized, unstable and run by a dictatorship"

What do you like about working at VLN Partners?

"Coworkers and casual dress, pro is nice but hours are long on a weekly basis"

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"There is a high likelihood that you will be laid off if you take a position here within the first year."

What don't you like about working at VLN Partners?

"Extremely toxic environment, small business run by a CEO that hires extremely talented people but based on knee jerk reactions pushes employees and clients away, he has a great idea but him alone will be the demise of the company. Managers have learned to follow suit in order to keep their jobs. Employees either quit or get fired and do not last for more than a year. There seems to be no business strategy and results with students seem to be unsuccessful and owner skews numbers for better results. I do not see much growth with this company and would not recommend leaving to take a chance on this start-up. If you have direct contact with the owner, no matter how well you do the job eventually he will find something irrational to terminate you for."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Honestly, I think it would be best if this company was bought out by a larger organization with better resources and knowledge on how to run a business in order to get it to the next level. Unfortunately, I do not think the CEO cares about the company or it employees and only about nurturing his ego."

"The CEO made working in this company miserable."

What do you like about working at VLN Partners?

"Most of my coworkers were nice, and the location was good."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"I would not interview with this company unless I desperately needed a job."

What don't you like about working at VLN Partners?

"Employees were not trusted to make their own decisions. Projects were not planned out well."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"The CEO micromanaged projects without a clear direction of what he wanted to accomplish."

"Ask how many students actually graduate."

What do you like about working at VLN Partners?

"I cannot think of one thing that I liked other than some of my coworkers"

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Do not let the owner decieve you. He speaks optimistically but you see a whole other side the day you start."

What don't you like about working at VLN Partners?

"Basically everything. I didn't like not getting paid, being berated by the owner, and watching the owner treat everyone with so little repect."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Deflate the owners false sense of ego. BTW - the other reviews must have been made by him because PTO is not generous at all, the schedule is not flexible, and in general you would be better off in prison."

Technical Support Analyst

"I recommend not leaving current employment for this company."

What do you like about working at VLN Partners?

"The casual work environment, generous PTO and holiday schedule, coworkers are really nice"

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Your final interview will most likely be with the owner, there is a good chance he will hire you on the spot. Do good work and don't make waves your first 3-6 months many people are let go during that time frame if the owner decides he does not like you."

What don't you like about working at VLN Partners?

"Owner dictates and micromanages and does not use feedback from management staff. People are regularly getting fired/leaving. Many new hires don't make it past 3 months (cost cutting and bad hiring). Many of the building renovations have been half done for years (half open ceilings, open walls, only half of lunch room has flooring, 4th floor toilets back up and leak through to desks on 3rd floor)"

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Trust your management staff and employees you hired them for a their expertise. Make better hiring choices, do not hire positions you have not budgeted for at least 12 months and try to assess if you will actually 'like' the employee before you offer them a position."

Adjunct Teacher

What do you like about working at VLN Partners?

"The freedom to set my own hours and to work from home, allowing me to be more present and available for my two school-age children."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Be knowledgeable about your content. Be disciplined in your work habits. Be prepared to troubleshoot your own technical dilemmas."

What don't you like about working at VLN Partners?

"Not being able to interact directly with colleagues; the lack of supervisory support; the inability to work one on one with students"

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Streamline the current process of creating assignments, disseminating assignments, grading assignments, uploading and communicating student progress (i.e. grades). The system currently in place requires four (4) separate web-based systems that could easily be assimilated into one, such as the open-source online education management system MOODLE or one of the more current and common, though expensive modules such as Blackboard."
