VetPharm Employee

"What a terrible place to work. Terrible pay for the workload. The previous poster is correct, the owners (who are boyfriend and girlfriend) are constantly mistreating or firing people and arguing with each other. They don't care about the safety of the animals in the clinical trials they manage and will do and say anything to make money. The employee turnover is constant. When you're interviewing, and ask about the high turnover, they will lie and tell you the previous staff did something "unethical." It's a lie. Ask them for reviews from previous employees who left on good terms. You'll never get one. They list people on the company website as employees who don't even work there. A legitimate company would never need to lie about who works for them to make it look like they have staff or capabilities they don't. The technology is also very poor compared to what you'll find at other veterinary clinical trial companies. As the previous poster mentioned, see the red flags and run, you deserve better."

VetPharm Employee

"This company was founded on an inspiring principle: to further companion animal health by providing clinical trials management services to companies developing veterinary products. This company has been in business for 15 years and has aspired towards growth since its founding. Unfortunately the owners of VetPharm preclude that growth despite the dedicated efforts of a perpetually revolving door of committed employees. Even now it is difficult to fully release the potential of this place that will never come to pass. Employees here last between several months and three years. I know of one that made it to four. The owners are singularly focused on their bottom line, outward image, and superficially making up excuses for past mistakes while the organization decays from within. Mass employee exodus or layoffs are not uncommon every couple years. In a company of less than ten, one has to give the owners credit for their tenacity at being able to survive what would bring most other organizations down. I strongly recommend job seekers to continue their search. If your curiosity gets the best of you and you are awarded an interview, be sure to ask why, in a 15 year old company, the employee with the longest tenure has been there for less than one year. Whatever the response, do not make the same mistake I did and ignore that enormous red flag. In terms of employee value, appreciation, operational understanding, managerial decision making, and strategy for success, I would give VetPharm 0 stars if I could."
