"The pay is not competitive, and living near a resort takes a toll on your expenses. Vail Resorts does not seem concerned with that and sees employee turnover as a good thing."

"I would take more time to listen to the operations employees at the mountain locations (we struggle with daily living expenses.) and move the corporate headquarters back to the mountains."

"With so many seasonal employees and such a large size, employees are often made to feel expendable."

"Management only k new how to manage, they did not know how to keep the store going. they would change routines that did not need to change. they couldnt do our job, therefore they were doing their job wrong"

"The lower employees were treated as if they were disposable, they were very quick to break us down and judge us. If I were running the company I would be at the bottom with them working to see what needed to be changed"

"You will most likely be disrespected and under-appreciated. Go there for the only reason I can think of, the views and activities."
What don't you like about working at Vail Resorts?
"Vail resorts spends like a child at a candy store and then tries to figure out how to pay for it later. THe marketing team is so consumed in there personal lifes and stories that they forget they are trying to attract business. They do not know how to make proper decisions and more often than not personal emotions play the major role in big discussions, HeidI Kertcher Pratt is at best a mediocre marketer who I feel makes wasteful decisions. They are notorious for the fighting between the other mountains and when corporate needs to flex muscle they rarely do."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I think they need a new approach to the marketing team. The new CEO Rob Kats is a step in the right direction, now if they could match his ambition with talented marketers Vail would see themselves on top."
