"Great pay and benefits ONLY because UTC Aerospace Systems is part of United Technologies Corporation. United Technologies' Educational Assistance Program, for example, is top-notch. You get all the same good benefits at Pratt & Whitney (also part of United Technologies), which is a MUCH better company to work for. If you have an offer from Pratt & Whitney and an offer from UTC Aerospace Systems, take the Pratt & Whitney offer even if it is for less pay."
"In 2013, the company was named Goodrich. Then UTC took over. It went from decent to HORRIBLE. It took them 2 years to find me. They had two layoffs in 2015 in which I got it in June. You can be the best but they don't care. Management is extremely greedy and lost contracts because they wanted too high profit margins. They use SAP which is the worst ERP system ever. Don't work there! No career growth. They are groveling now for work and trying to get proposals. Could have a third layoff soon."
"I love my job. However, the company tends to do a lot of layoffs. Since they bought out Goodrich Corporation, they've had at least 4 big layoffs. Morale is low and people are leaving the company for other jobs. SAP jobs are outsourced to Puerto Rico so I'm not certain what the future holds."
"If you're looking for a company where you can be promoted from within if you're willing to relocate, this is is. However, they WILL expect you to be a company yes man, and they will expect you to do anything for them first. This includes postpone/work through vacation, travel extensively, and work at night and weekends if the business requires it. Work/life balance comes second, in my experience. Landing Systems is in transition, so the business unit requires this dedication. I've found that you may trap yourself in a dead-end job if you're not willing to relocate."
"I worked at UTC for 3 years where there wasn't much direction in the group that I was in. Projects seemed to change on a daily basis and new ideas were not met with much enthusiasm. Supervisor was good but he just got pushed around and never really stuck up for what the group was working on. Benefits and pay were good also with flex time available."
"The company is currently in turmoil due to a recent buyout by UTC. The final organization has not taken shape yet and upper management is in continual change and final locations of offices in the US and Canada has not been finalized. Employees are constantly worried about the office in Independence Ohio staying open when there is no longer a manufacturing site near by."
"I've worked for this company for about 2 years. Overall, great employees but business unit leadership needs improvement."
"I've worked for UTC Aerospace systems for a total of 2 years, since Goodrich merged with the company. UTC is highly rated and very much enforcing high levels of compliance in areas such as EH&S, Finance, etc."
"I have been very happy at UTC Aerospace. Great place to work and great coworkers. The job is fun and rewarding."
