I love that it is a cross-disciplinary field and that through doing UX work, you learn about so many different aspects about a particular product or business. I don't like that you have to butt heads with the business team a lot, since business-minded professionals are uncomfortable of stepping out of their comfort zone for the sake of innovation."

Contracting has its pros and cons, but overall I like the flexibility and the ability to change clients fairly often, which gives me experience in many areas and industries.
