"The Coast Guard is similar to other militaries using the same sets of rules as well as the same pay scale. There is an end point to everyone's employment, however, and I'm retiring after 24 years of service. The skills I have gained in the medical administration realm have been invaluable. Furthermore, the masters degrees I've earned has prepared me well to exit the service."
