"This was a stable environment that let me do a lot of field work. I worked with some of the people that developed the original US satellite technology."

"If you are looking for a stable career that will last the rest of your life, go for it. If you are looking to be challenged in your day to day work, look elsewhere."

What don't you like about working at US Geological Survey?

"The government is more interested in stopping people form steeling money than in getting work done. It was difficult going through all of the paperwork to get authorization to do the actual work."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Management was good to me, I have no complaints at all."
