Lecturer

"My experience was amazing and invaluable."

What do you like about working at University of Tennessee?

"Teaching students, preparing lectures, office hours, and extra review sessions were all things I liked about working specifically with my class. However, in terms of working in the statistics department at the University, I would say the main thing that I valued and appreciated above all else was the availability of all our faculty to answer any questions we may had."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"No, I don't have too much advice with interviewing for a position in our department other than the fact that your academic work and transcripts are strongly considered before actually being able to retain an assistantship especially a teaching assistantship. My only advice would be to work as hard as possible regarding your coursework to be considered for a position there."

What don't you like about working at University of Tennessee?

"Sometimes having to try and accommodate all other students' schedules could be difficult. We had a very strict system which required students to show proof of their absences and other scheduled events and sometimes it became a little hard to discern what indeed was an 'acceptable absence' and what was not."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"No suggestions whatsoever, we have a really great department at the university. The tenured professors have been there for a long time and have pretty much mastered, in my opinion, clear and attainable responsibilities for all instructors."
