"The university of the south is located in rural middle Tennessee. Here you'll find yourself always surrounded by beautiful landscapes, bluffs, mountain top views, and hiking trails. The town of Sewanee has no more than 3000 people during the academic year and that number shrinks to 2000 in the summer. The University of the South is known for the order of the gown, class dress, and rigorous teaching, however, given the current state of academe and the business model in which students are consumers and the school provides a service, the higher purpose of the mission is lost and so are the faculty. Aside from poor leadership by upper management, it can be a wonderful place to settle in for a while."
