"I don't have any suggestions for the management. Everything was fine."

"I enjoy the freedom I have to get my work done and the way work is asked of me."

"Be open, and be prepared to go-with-the-flow. You will wear multiple hats. This job will allow you the freedom to do your work the way you want to but support for administrative tasks will fall on you."

What don't you like about working at University of Florida?

"I do not enjoy the number of additional tasks that are not related to my field (i.e. technical support, A/V support, instructional)."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Hire an administrative assistant to replace many of the smaller, repetitive administrative tasks and let me design/build websites."

"Dynamic environment, travel opportunity, regular living habit, more practical, stable."

"Lack of novelty compared to research done in the lab."

"Make the management more organized and more efficient, get more suggestions from people from different fields."

"Though the compensation package is not good, it is a very good work experience."

"It was an on-campus project that was only open to students on campus, as I graduated I have to move on."

"It seems good for a small on-campus project with people no more than 10."

"The silos that exist in the department prevent any completion of work and create competition."

"My supervisor is very anal and micromanages us to where we hate to work to our full potential because she will just come correct us."

"I would determine efficiency in each department, reorganize departments and equal pay amongst all workers."

"I have been working in Intelligent Design of Efficient Architectures Laboratory as a Research Assistant under the supervision of my advisor Dr. Tao Li. Founded by Dr. LI in 2005, the mission of the Intelligent Design of Efficient Architectures Laboratory (IDEAL) is to conduct research on the design and optimization of computer systems and emerging techniques and applications interactions with those systems. The lab provides the ideal platform for motivating and implementing new ideas."

"I have worked in computational neuroengineering lab as a graduate research assistant since 2009. I find it an exciting place to work, where ideas from many fields - from machine learning to neuroscience- intersect to create some exciting research."

"Working in academia is not the same as the industry. Graduate students are used as cheap labor here. In recent years the research funding has gone down and affected a lot of jobs. We have very strong people in our department but resources are scarce."
