"The extra benefits are the only thing that keep me here. The pay is crap and the office politics are mind numbing."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Unless you know the office you're walking into, don't work here because the favoritism and office polictics will drive you out of your mind. That and they don't pay you enough for the stuff you deal with."

What don't you like about working at University of Miami?

"Lack of respect for the employee. Even if you go to HR you're not safe to express yourself because everyone has someone in their pocket."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"They really need to focus on building employee morale and researching the feedback employees give on their reviews."

"The interaction with scientists, the ability to contribute to an educational environment, and the opportunity to obtain a Master's degree in marine affairs (environmental anthropology)."

What don't you like about working at University of Miami?

"Changes in administrationl; the politics and dissension among the various scientific disciplines at the school; the lack of ability to advance and be recognized; the inherent lack of stimulation with a job below my skill level and intellectual abilities."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"None. The problems are inherent in any academic institution and dependent on the vision and leadership (or lack thereof) of particular Deans and Provosts."
