Investigator

"Where buisness values conflict with national security."

What do you like about working at United States Information Agency?

"Flexible work hours and the fact I was helping to secure my country."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Be neat and organized. Where clothing that is understated or conservative. Have a small patriotic pin or wrist ban on. Be physically fit and show you have participated in running events for worthy causes. Show initiative to follow rules without question."

What don't you like about working at United States Information Agency?

"In all companies there are contracts that need to be fulfilled. In some industries just following the letter of the contract is enough. The above and beyond does not affect peoples lives or our nations security. At USIS in the position I held it did. The companies work ethic of processing just the minimum of what was needed conflicted with my work ethic of exceeding the need. When it comes to our nations security, you don't need to know why is NOT acceptable.Another area was the unstated acceptance of working hours but not reporting them to keep your statistics up. Almost everyone does so. The company preaches against it but fosters the behavior by the performance measures it uses."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Remember that you ACT as a representative of the agency you are working for. Also, you ARE the first line of defense safeguard not only for our Government but ultimately the People of the United States. Is just doing the minimum as fast as possible how you want your family protected"
