"United Space Alliance is a 51/49 partnership between Boeing and Lockheed Martin. USA held the primary responsiblity for the Space Shuttle and Space Station programs for many years until 2009 when they lost the rebid of the contract to Lockheed Martin and served as the primary subcontractor on the contract. USA was and still is a great company to work for. They consistently received high ratings from the managers at JSC. The work environment was great..they provided training and the ability to move to other positions. They did a lot of volunteer work in the community and when we were laid off we had the best severance package of all of the companies at JSC. They took care of us very well."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"It is important to show that you can work along side another person, or group of people very patiently and helpfully. There are too many individuals in this day and age. Too much selfishness. We need more team players. Show that you can get along with your co-workers and listen to them and your supervisor before your tongue activates."
What don't you like about working at United Space Alliance?
"A lot of managers get caught in a rut of just using the same ones over and over again to perform special tasks, or projects. There needs to be more concentration on making sure that everyone within a group is given fair opportunity to perform, or be trained equally. There is definitely a good old boy philosophy at work. Also, there is a leniency toward individuals and how they behave on the communication nets. Many have no on-net discipline and it is allowed to just continue."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Analyze how things are done, and why, and then fix any problems decisively. The machine needs to be oiled every once in a while."
